BrainFusion Learning is a game-based learning platform built to solve a problem I’ve seen repeatedly across EdTech: most study tools are either too passive (just flashcards) or too complex to actually get picked up by busy teachers and students.

The core insight was simple: people retain information better when they’re actively competing, when stakes feel real (even if small), and when they can see their progress clearly.

The Problem

Teachers have great content but limited time to build engaging review activities. Students use flashcard apps that feel like chores. Corporate trainers struggle to make mandatory training feel like anything but mandatory training.

The existing tools didn’t thread the needle between “easy to set up” and “actually engaging.”

What I Built

BrainFusion Games lets educators create quiz-based games that students can compete in — live or asynchronously. The format is familiar (quiz), but the experience is more like a competitive game than a test.

Key capabilities:

  • Live multiplayer quiz games for classroom use
  • Async competitive challenges that work across time zones
  • Teacher dashboard with real-time performance data
  • Content library with ready-made games across subjects

Technical Highlights

The real-time multiplayer engine was the interesting engineering challenge. I built it on WebSockets with a custom game state management layer, optimized to handle the burst load of an entire classroom hitting “submit” simultaneously.

Content creation was designed to take under five minutes — deliberately. If teachers can’t build a game in one free period, they won’t build one at all.

Status

Currently in active development and early user validation. First paying customers acquired. Working toward full public launch.
