Who I Am

About

I'm a software development leader with over 20 years of experience building products across EdTech, games, mobile, web, and desktop. I live in Northern Utah, where I spend my time leading engineering teams, building my own ventures, and getting out on the trails.

My degree is in Computer Science, Multimedia, and Graphic Design from Weber State University — a combination that's been genuinely useful. I think in systems, care about craft, and believe that good software is as much about clarity and communication as it is about code.

By day, I'm Director of Software Development at Reading Horizons, where I lead a team building EdTech software. On the side, I run NexSolvo — my company behind BrainFusion Learning and I Own The Score. My longer-term goal is to build something people love enough to pay for, and to do it on my own terms.

I've built websites, web apps, desktop applications, mobile apps, games, and e-learning products. I find myself increasingly interested in AI-assisted development — not as a shortcut, but as a genuine amplifier of craft.

Outside the screen

I'm a husband and father of five. I'm an active member of my church community and currently serve as a bishop. When I can carve out time, I'm mountain biking the trails near home, disc golfing, running, or learning from history.

Northern Utah is home. The Wasatch Range is a short drive. I find the mountains clarifying in a way that's hard to explain but easy to feel.
